He was born in Siberian village. At age ten he taught himself to draw, and soon thereafter took top place in the local Mathematics Olympiads. He graduated from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, then branched out to modern literature, theater, music and art. The last five years he has been working as an artist and designer in advertising. He took part in developing ads for the R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Co, Koff, Paulig, Libresse, and Tampax.
